Paula Braswell @ Redhead Gallery, Toronto

Project Gloabalization is a flare of warning about human density and our abuse of the environment. Paula Braswell uses icebergs to speak about our quickening environmental demise. Project Globallization is a multi-layered multi-media installation, including sound work, video projections, sculpture and digital photographs turning Red Head Gallery into a call to arms.

Like, in earlier exhibitions, Project Gloabilization speaks about our connections to the world as a metaphor for our spiritual inner nature. Also, how this connection affects the way we live in the world currently. Paula Braswell is interested in shining light on the emotional climate created by this connection.

Paula Braswell is a professional multimedia/installation artist working in Toronto for the last twelve years. Braswell’s work has been exhibited extensively in solo and group shows in Canada and Europe and across the United States; where she received her MFA in 1990. Over the years she has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants from organizations such as the National Endowment for the Arts, the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council. Many thanks to Denise Charon and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for supplying Paula Brasswell with many of the basic iceberg images from their research files and allowing her to adapt them to her purposes.
