  1. Beautiful capture. This homeless guy’s face shows the weariness of his life but there is somehow a gleem of hope in those eyes that hints toward a better future.

    Well done.

  2. I have my art studio downtown across the street from a mission. These photographs help to give the viewer an inside peek into another world that I couldn’t even begin to understand. I appreciate the attention Tom gave to each individual person that was photographed. Black and white served the image well, focusing on the person rather than the surroundings.

  3. I have always been drawn to environmental portraits like this. I have experimented with it in my own work, also. The use of focus without having an extremely shallow depth of field still brings our eye straight to the subject, which is the man, but we still can figure out where he is, and in what conditions.
