Discussing art is an art in itself. There are so many questions that come up when you think about what art can be. I think if it requires you to think, it’s definitely art. Then again, with some art you look at you won’t be required to think at all – it’s exactly what is presented to you. And so it goes.
I appreciate your presentation, tone, sense of humor and theorization about art, not just “art,” but “Ahhhhhrrrrrrt.” This can speak so well to your everyday non-artist person who remains skeptical of modern art, the focused and driven art student of today and everyone else in between the two. PS. Love the hats!
What an honest refreshing stance on the stuffy world of art.
A lot of my students could relate to this much better than the explanations I try to give.
